Teacher of RE / Humanities

Leaders and governors are seeking to appoint an inspirational teacher of RE to join our forward-thinking humanities team. The successful candidate will specialise in RE and have the ability to deliver history or geography to key stage 3 & 4.

Students perform well in RE at Blythe Bridge High School & Sixth Form. Last year, department results had the highest percentage of grade 9s in the school and percentage of grades 7-9. This is testament to the school’s commitment to a broad and balanced curriculum and the creative and innovative teaching and learning.

In a recent SACRE visit, they said,

Blythe Bridge High School & Sixth Form is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated individual to work closely with a targeted group of students to raise aspirations and support development and progress across all subjects. They will work, under guidance, to provide support in addressing the needs of students who need particular help to overcome barriers to learning.

The Teaching Assistant Additional Needs will have the opportunity to make a considerable and sustained impact on the achievement of our students.

The post of Teaching Assistant Additional Needs will support students and their progression in the following way:

  • Participate in the comprehensive assessment of students to determine those with additional needs who would benefit from personalised provision.
  • Act as an academic mentor for groups/individual students where specific support is needed to achieve identified goals.
  • Support students’ access to learning using appropriate strategies and resources.
  • Support classroom teachers in the implementation of Classroom Support Plans.

We are looking for a confident person with a friendly personality and exceptional customer service skills, basic food preparation experience and a ‘can do’ attitude.
Reporting to the Catering Manager, general duties include some basic food preparation in line with our menu and recipes, health & safety compliance, cleaning duties and serving from the counter.

Catering experience is not essential as training will be given.

We have a vacancy in school for a Lunchtime Supervisor post. Duty time is 1pm – 2pm.
