Teacher of Mathematics

Key Stage 2/3 (TLR 3 available – Research Lead)

Governors wish to appoint a creative, dynamic teacher of mathematics. In addition to the duties and responsibilities of a standard classroom teachers applicants may in interested in either, or a combination of, the exciting opportunities detailed below.

Applications from a teacher of maths who would like to lead research based projects in school related to mathematics (TLR 3) are welcomed. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher who is passionate about relating research to any area of teaching and learning within their subject area.

Following a successful trial this year, where teaching and non-teaching staff have completed projects in art, PE, English and sciences, governors wish to extend this to mathematics. The candidates would be able to select their preferred area(s) of research and discuss these during the interview.

Alternatively, leaders and governors would like to review applications from an outstanding teacher of KS2/3 to work with our Year 7 and 8 students to accelerate their progress in mathematics through creative and innovative teaching and learning.

This opportunity would suit either a newly qualified or experienced teacher who would thrive in a department open to fresh ideas and imaginative approaches. Teacher of English & Leader of Reading and Cultural Capital (TLR 3 available)

Due to an increase in our Year 7 student numbers in September governors wish to appoint an inspirational teacher of English to join our well-established and forward-thinking English department. The successful candidate will join a team with a relentless focus on raising attainment through creative and innovative teaching and learning.

The teacher will also be responsible for helping ignite and keep alight the love of reading across the school. We believe that it is through reading and other horizon expanding experiences that all students, but in particular the most disadvantaged, gain the knowledge of the world that will help them flourish.

Swimming Instructor/Lifeguard

Grade 5 10-15 hours per week

Casual position – term time only

Hourly rate £9.50 – £10.27

Hours of work to coincide with after school swim school classes commencing at 4pm)

We are looking to recruit an efficient and effective Swimming Instructor to deliver after school swimming lessons and to support with the adult and family swim sessions. The successful candidate will hold the RLSS UK Lifeguard Certificate and the GB Swimming Teachers Certificate. Our Swim school follows the Swim England stage awards and therefore teaching must be to Swim England Standards.

We are looking for a person to join us who will:

● Instruct the afterschool swim sessions under the direction of the Swimming Pool Supervisor.
● Supervise the activities of the adult and family swim sessions along with other lifeguards.
● Follow and participate in the established health & safety procedures.

We are looking for a confident person with a friendly personality and exceptional customer service skills, basic food preparation experience and a ‘can do’ attitude.
Reporting to the Catering Manager, general duties include some basic food preparation in line with our menu and recipes, health & safety compliance, cleaning duties and serving from the counter.

Catering experience is not essential as training will be given.
