Assessment Guidance

Teachers assess the progress of students in learning our curriculum regularly, and in most subjects every half term. We compare the outcomes of these assessments with subject-specific baselines, which give us a good indication of how effectively students are developing the knowledge and skills intended. This information is then used to inform students and parents of the progress that is being made through reports as well as progress evenings. It is also analysed to help us modify our curriculum and teaching as necessary.

The school has developed an assessment guide for parents which outlines national changes to curriculum and assessment that have taken place over recent years. To request a copy please email a.mitchell@bb-hs.co.uk.
