Blythe Bridge High School & Sixth Form is one of only two schools within north Staffordshire to offer its students on site swimming provision.
Our fantastic 18m flat deck pool is used extensively by our secondary students as part of the PE curriculum and is also utilised by eight different Primaries throughout the week.
The swimming facilities are also utilised from 4.00pm onwards every day with structured programme ranging from ‘learn to swim’ for novices up to competitive or fitness swimming for more advanced individuals. Teachers follow the national Swim England structure, with learners working towards specific badges. We also offer an extensive lifesaving programmes incorporating the ‘RLSS Rookie Lifeguard’ qualification, Bronze, Silver & Gold personal survival awards alongside the nationally accredited RLSS Pool Lifeguard Award for post 16 students.
The swimming facilities are also used during school holidays with our qualified swim teachers offering personalised one to one or small group sessions. The facilities are also accessed by community groups in the evenings.
