Dress Code

At Sixth Form we acknowledge that students should be able to start making more independent choices about their choice of clothing. In line with whole school policy on uniform we continue to recognise the importance that our school places on presenting a smart and professional image to the community. At Sixth Form, students are therefore free to wear their own choice of clothes, but should make choices that are considered appropriate for a work setting. This is to help prepare students for their future move in to employment, an apprenticeship or to university.

To avoid confusion students are issued with a set of guidelines of what we consider unsuitable for Sixth Form. This includes clothes with inappropriate images or slogans and extreme hairstyles including coloured hair (inappropriate for a working environment) or piercings. Students considered to be wearing inappropriate clothing or with an extreme hairstyle will be asked to change into appropriate attire.
